Dry skin is a skin type in which the skin does not produce enough natural oil (sebum) or loses moisture too quickly. As a result, the skin lacks the oils and water needed to stay soft, smooth, and healthy.
Characteristics of dry skin
- Rough or flaky texture
- Tight feeling, especially after washing
- Dull appearance with little natural shine
- Small, less visible pores
- Fine lines may appear more noticeable due to dehydration
- Skin may become itchy, irritated, or mildly red, especially in cold or dry weather
